Abstract

Menopausal transition is a period characterized by psychic, somatic and changes in the reproductive capacity of a woman. It occurs as a result of quenching of the ovarian function, and refers to periods with different meanings: perimenopause, menopause and postmenopausal. The level of lipoprotein in girls and boys in puberty is similar. The gender difference in HDL cholesterol occurs during puberty and women have an average 10 mg / dL higher HDL cholesterol level than men throughout their lifetime. According to recent studies, it affects HDL cholesterol and reduced triglyceride levels, and a longer reproductive period is also associated with increased body weight, and unlike years of menstruation, it is characterized by a reduced level of HDL and all other cholesterol. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between menarche and reproductive age with lipid and hormonal profiles in women in perimenopause and postmenopausal women. This prospective, comparative survey was carried out in the period from November 2009 to December 2010 and included a total of 150 respondents divided into three groups and a life span of 40–55 years. Based on the obtained regression coefficients and the corresponding P values, we can not conclude that there is a significant relationship between menarche and lipid profile in subjects in premenopausal, perimenopause and postmenopausal, and we can not confirm that there is a significant relationship between reproductive age and lipid profile. Lifetime is an important independent predictor for LDL and total cholesterol in women, but it is not as influential as a body constitution and lifestyle affect the level of HDL, LDL, and triglycerides in women.
