Abstract

The multifunctionality of agriculture represents a form of reproducing older values into new values that meet the conditions of modern society. When discussing values, the primary focus is on those embedded in the environment, as well as the services available within that environment, the quality of nutrition, and the numerous cultural values of rural areas.

The model of multifunctional agriculture has not been fully explored. It is clear that it involves products that meet market demands and services intended for societal use. However, uncertainties remain regarding the vast number of possibilities that multifunctional agriculture offers.

From the perspective of farmers in Central and Eastern European countries, multifunctionality can contribute primarily to the development of new services and values accessible to individuals from both rural and urban backgrounds. Multifunctionality serves as a mechanism through which older forms of social connectivity and public services can be revitalized (or redefined) into a new dimension adapted to the needs of modern society.
