Abstract

"The beginning is the most important part of the work" quote by Greek philosopher Plato. The story of the children's safety in traffic is the story of our future. The aim of this work is to comprehensively show the problem of children's safety in traffic in the Republic of Serbia, from the analysis of the legal foundations of education and upbringing such as education programs in the curriculum of elementary schools through official statistics to the analysis of the survey sample of almost 5% of fourth grade students of primary schools in Belgrade and their teachers. The goal is to provide the proposal of actions to improve the safety of the children. If we preemptively start to work on the education of children it will benefit the entire society. This is why the prevention is the most important part of our work.
